An adventurer, a conservationist — though often disillusioned by this wrecked-up world, still a hoper! Here are fragments of my life, of my memories, that I hope bring you peace — or at least a glimpse of a smile. May you still be mesmerized by this world, as a child would be.
This portfolio gathers personal photographs taken during conservation missions or travels around the world. All images were captured in the field — sometimes while walking, mapping, interviewing, or simply observing. They reflect both the beauty of the environments I strive to protect, and my way of being in the field — sometimes serious, sometimes light-hearted, but always engaged.
My equipment: a simple Canon EOS 2000D + EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS II lens or EF-S 55–250mm f/4–5.6 IS STM

I may be a biologist who loves nature, but my work is, above all, about people.

For the past five months, I’ve been living and working on the island of São Tomé, a lost paradise in the Atlantic Ocean. My mission: to protect three coastal natural reserves — Praias do Sul, Praia Jalé, and Ilhéu das Rolas — wild stretches of land where sea turtles come ashore to nest, and marine birds trace their paths across the sky.
Day by day, I walk this delicate line between conservation and development — working hand in hand with communities, local authorities, and a conservation NGO to find common ground. We try not only to preserve what is fragile, but to build something stronger: an approach where protecting nature becomes a way to grow, not a burden to bear. At the end of this mission, I’ll offer a ten-year management plan for these reserves — built together, tested on the ground, and shaped by every voice willing to speak for the land.

Sloths in the garden, matoutous under my roof, caimans in the pond… French Guiana is wild.
French Guiana was the beginning of an adventure for me. I started my second master’s degree there, with a month-long field trip in the rainforest. I had just arrived from a three-month journey through South America — starting in Argentina, crossing Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, and Brazil — before finally reaching French Guiana by boat.

I spent my days immersed in the forest: observing, studying its structure, and learning how to live in the jungle. Who could ask for more?

To all the people I met along the way — thank you.
You’ve marked me and changed me in more ways than I can count.
I know that, for many of you, our paths won’t cross again. Some of you may have already forgotten me.
But I carry you with me.
And I wanted to offer a heartfelt thank you — for your presence, your kindness, your stories, your warmth.
You gave me more than you know.

I hope these fragments speak to you — and remind you of the beauty still worth protecting.
